The Milky Way season is short in Alaska but is one of my favorite things to photograph. This particular evening I was lucky enough to photograph a phenomenon known as a SAR arc crossing the Milky Way. SAR arcs are generated by extreme thermal and kinetic energy in Earth’s atmosphere.
